The University Centre of the Province of Agrigento  intends to pursue a serious policy aimed at gradual development of research and technological innovation, careful optimization of training provision, progressive improvement of services, commencement of important processes of internationalization and liaison with the world of work and enterprise.

 

The University Centre of Agrigento has the legal nature of a consortium. Founded in 1994, in a steady growth trend, the University Centre of Agrigento has achieved some important objectives in the last past few years:

  • increasing number of partners, the number of the initials partners, at the beginning only three, (the Province and the Municipality of Agrigento together with the Chamber of Commerce) has grown up to 25;

  • about 5,000 students enrolled.

Architecture - Law - Engineering - Humanities - Education Sciences - Medicine.

Three-year Degrees:

  • Engineering
  • Management Engineering
  • Archive and Library Heritage
  • Cultural and Archaeological Heritage
  • Social Services
  • Education Sciences
  • Radiology


Five-year Degrees:

  • Architecture
  • Law
  • Archeology

Master Courses of I and II levels are regularly organized.

Teaching takes place in three different sites in Agrigento:

Via Quartararo (Headquarters of the Polo)
Villa Genuardi
Contrada Consolida (Hospital)

Another prestigious site in the central Via Atenea is being restructured.
The northern part of the building, which is almost completed, will be allocated to student residences, while the southern wing will host the administrative offices and boardrooms.

According to the agreement with the Opera Universitaria (today ERSU) and the Centre for Orientation and Mentoring of Palermo (COT) students of the Polo Universitario di Agrigento can use all services provided by these agencies.

Furthermore, the University Centre of Agrigento offers the following services: libraries, restoration workshops, computer labs, language lab, Internet kiosks, chapel, printing centre, cafeteria.
